Doctoral Researchers - School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences

We believe that a large and vibrant postgraduate research community is a major contributor to our research success and continued international standing.

The School has three key research themes;

These groupings are permeable; collaborations between themes are encouraged, increasingly occur, and are increasingly yielding dividends. The research in each of the groups has a strong historic fundamental component, which generates the knowledge for applications both in the sport and health promotion area.

In addition to a successful School Research Seminar Programme, attendance at which is mandatory for PhD students, each of the research groups runs internal seminars and/or journal clubs. All the School’s research groups have ongoing collaborations with national and international leaders in the field.
