The aim of this website is to make staff and students more aware of the travel options that are available and to help you to plan your own personal sustainable journey to the University.
The University is working in partnership with National Express West Midlands to give its staff a 25% reduction (funding 12.5% each) off the cost of a full price bus pass from April 2012. This is a massive 20% extra discount compared to last year. To apply visit the University's Human Resources webpage.
Lunchtime walks are back and taking place every Thursday lunchtime 12.30-1.30pm (dates may vary depending on availability).

Secure cycle parking is now available at the Munrow Sports Centre. The new compound is located to the rear of the shelter that was installed last year and provides 40 cycle parking spaces only accessible through a pin protected gate. To register to use this facility please visit the Munrow Sports Centre reception and present your ID card. You will be asked to complete a short application form before being given the pin code. The pin code will only be given to a limited number of registered staff and students to ensure that spaces are as readily available as possible.

If you would like to trial a locker free of charge for a 6 month period then please email the Sustainable Travel Coordinator
The lockers will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The nine successful applicants will be issued with a padlock and key and would be invited to give feedback on the usefulness of the lockers.
As part of our commitment to reduce our impact on the environment we have produced a Sustainable Travel Plan which contains a series of initiatives to encourage all members of the University community to walk, cycle, car share or use public transport to travel to and from the University, between campuses and to external meetings. An overview of the Plan can be viewed to the left of this page in the Mini Travel Guide.
As nearly a quarter of all car journeys are under two miles, walking or cycling is often a practical alternative to driving. This method of transport can vastly improve your lifestyle.
As an alternative to this car sharing allows you to split travel costs with your fellow passengers and save on fuel costs and parking fees.
If you have more than one car in your household, and more family members walked, cycled or used public transport you might be able to give up that extra car, saving thousands of pounds each year on running costs.
